Photo : Hair was not clipped properly and was not tidy . Strands of hair dangling from the hat .
There
are serveral strands of hair dangling out of the hat . This shows poor personal
hygiene of the person . Poor personal hygiene might be one of the factors that cause food
borne illness .
Food borne illness is a disease carried and transmitted to people by food . Our hair is exposed to the environment everyday thus , it
carries many microorganism even though we wash it daily . If strands of hair
accidentally fall into foods , foods
will be contaminated , causing illnesses and even disgust consumers
To prevent such happenings and to promote good personal hygiene , hair must be neat . Guys hair must be short without any tails of their hair extending out of the hat , while girls hair should be clipped and be hidden in our hat . If hair still falls after being clipped , it is better to use a hair spray or wax to keep hair in place .
There are other personal hygiene lapses. Good to elaborate.

ReplyDeleteI agree that the neatness of our hair plays a big part in our personal hygiene. However, there are more things to be taken care of, for example, our nails must be trimmed and we must make sure that we wash our hands before we handle food substances.
ReplyDeleteYes , of cause there are other hygiene practices that we have to follow ! For example , washing of hands , trimming of nails , ensure that we do not wear any accessories into the kitchen , not being present in kitchen when we are sick and many more .
ReplyDelete-Trimming of nails
underneath our nails contains many bacterias which might cause foodborne illnesses( food poisoning ) if bacterias cross contaminate to ready-to-eat foods / ingredients . Thus , it is important to trim nails often so that we do not further increase and promote the breeding of bacterias on the food .
-Washing of hands
Our hands are expose to the air daily , and the surrounding contains thousands of bacteria . Thus , our hands are contaminated with many different types of bacterias . Washing of our hands thoroughly with soap helps us to remove most of the bacterias . Thus when we prepare food , our dish becomes safer for consumption.
-Do not wear acessories into the kitchen
Accessories such as ear rings and hair bands are known as physical hazards . If they fall into our food they cause physical contamination which may result in health problems and even death . Most importantly , it causes damages to our teeths/gums and disrupts our respiratory tracts .For example:
1)aspiration ( the inhalation of foreign materials into our branchale tract thus resulting in partial collapse of lungs and destruction of lung tissues by retained materials )
2) choking ( when objects gets stuck up the esophagus by compression of tranchea )
If we do not wear any accessories into the kitchen , it helps us prevent the above examples from happening .
- Wearing of hats
Wearing of hats helps to keep our hair from falling into the food . This is also known as physical contamination as well . In addition , the hat helps to contain all our hair and also to absorb all our sweat when we are cooking . This is so as to prevent sweat droplets to fall into foods.
All the above examples are some methods to improve personal hygiene . If we practice all the above examples , our food will be safe for consumption . Not only that , we will have more customers as they feel safe and contented when they consume the foods .
If we continue to have poor hygiene practices like the above post , there will be consequences such as depletion of the number of customers as they feel disgusted that we do not keep cleanliness as a top priority , loss of profit as we have to pay for medical bills and also to prepare a new set for the customers . Not only that , In order to regain the trust of the customers , we will have to send the workers for lessons to encourage them to practice good personal hygiene . It also takes alot of time to regain the trust of the customers as well .

You can elaborate more on the consequences .
ReplyDeleteI do agree that poor personal hygiene will led to loss of customers and sales. This is because i once experience such thing, i was eating at a coffee shop and i spotted a black hair in my bowl of noodles and i immediately told her dont bother cooking another bowl because i have loss my appetite. First thing that comes to my mind is that did she wash her hair ? does she have hir problem ? Keeping hair neat not only it prevent hair from dropping, it also let the customer knows that they have good personal hygiene. - Calisa
